Padres get only 2nd win ever against Marlins, almost cost Padres owner a controller and wife!

After a terrible, confidence reducing beating by the Cincinnati Reds, the Padres took the field against their heated rivals the Miami Marlins.

Padres jumped out to an early 2 run lead in the 1st thanks in large part of Roughned Odor error. Padres stud and Cy Young candidate Lucas Giolito get in and out of jams throughout the game maintaining a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 8th. With two outs and a lefty up Padres manager brings in the setup man Adam Blocker, who hasn’t given up a lead all season. Marlins counters with Kyle Lewis, Lewis hits and 0-2 change up for a single to keep the inning alive. Odor comes up and after a long pause Marlin’s owner decides stay with lefty lefty match up. Second straight curve ball in a row and Odor promptly deposits it over right centerfield fence to tie up the ball game. Padres owner loses it spikes controller and cusses very loudly waking up wife and pissing her off. After getting her back to bed the game continues both teams have a chance to score in the next couple innings but no one does till the 13th. Padres start inning off with 2 straight hits and Dahl crushes one to straight away center that Kyle Lewis should have caught but didn’t. Flood gates open and the Padres score 5 in the top of the inning. Marlins make a little a noise in the bottom of the inning but don’t score. Padres win 7-2, controller still works and wife is pissy but will get over it. Great win for the Padres!
